Complete Morons Guide To Remove Viruses

Backdoor.Trojan is a unified name for Backdoor Trojans by some antispyware software. Backdoor.Trojan does not refer to a specific threat, but a type. Many computer users may always get alert from their antivirus software that Backdoor.Trojan is detected, but can’t be removed and quarantined. Or, the Trojan appears again after deletion, which annoys people very much.

How can we remove Backdoor.Trojan? Here, specifically against this type of threat, I would like to introduce some techniques on manually removing it. Before manually removing Backdoor.Trojan, you need a program Spyware Cease that is able to forcibly delete files. Meanwhile, if you want to remove Backdoor.Trojan once for all, you can also download Spyware Cease to run an Online Scan and remove the threat effectively.

Approach on how to manually remove Backdoor.Trojan:

Before adopting this approach, you should know what the file name of this Trojan is. Antivirus software usually reports the exact name of a Trojan once it is detected, and you should first note down the correct Trojan name. For example, if the antivirus software alerts that C:WindowsXXX.dll is Backdoor.Trojan, then please note down the name C:WindowsXXX.dll. It should be noted that the file name must be recorded accurately, because many Trojans may intentionally disguise themselves with file names close to some normal files, such as,

svch0st.exe (Trojan) -> svchost.exe (normal)

Expl0rer.exe (Trojan) -> Explorer.exe (normal)

intrenat.exe / internet.exe (Trojan) -> internat.exe (normal)

Especially, the number 0 and the capital letter O are so alike that can be easily confused. Therefore, they should be carefully differentiated, or the normal files might be deleted once they are recorded incorrectly. Please use the Forcible File Deletion tool to remove the file path of the noted XXX.dll.

After deleting the Trojan files, please check the following Registry Keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlset001Services

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlset002Services

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunOnce

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRunOnceEx

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun

Check whether the Registry Keys contain some file information about Backdoor.Trojan. If yes, please delete these Registry Keys. Restart up the computer after the deletion.

To sum up, if your antivirus software alerts Backdoor.Trojan, we should start from the exact Trojan name and remove the Trojan immediately, so as to prevent your computer system from being compromised.

    I use "spybot search and destroy" and "adware 6.0". you can go to downloads.com and get them for free and ive never had problems with my computer. AVG is a virus program that is free also that works great. I told my parents and grandparents about these and they tried them and they havn't had any problems since. all three have frequent updates (AVG more than the others). spybot and adware you have to manualy search for updates in the program themselfs but its really easy to use. i had other anti virus programs before and they saied my computer was clean, then i ran AVG and it found 70 virus that the others didn't get.

    No single anti-spyware application is perfect so I recommend using at least 2 different programs. Spybot Search & Destroy is one of the best. I also recommend SUPERAntiSpyware. Other free anti-spyware programs would be Adaware, AVG Anti-spyware (formally Ewido), A-squared, Spyware Terminator and SpywareBlaster.

    I strongly recommend using FireFox, it's a far better and safer alternative to Internet Explorer. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.

    In addition to a firewall you must have full time (active) virus protection and full time (active) spyware protection.

    All the following programs are free.
